About
A church for the neighbourhood
Pewside began in 2014 with twelve people in a borrowed hall. We still believe church works best when it feels like a big, noisy, loving family dinner.

Our story
Twelve chairs and a coffee urn.
We started in a rented community hall with twelve chairs, a borrowed projector and a pot of coffee that was never quite hot enough. Today about three hundred people call Pewside home, and the coffee is still not quite hot enough.
We are a non-denominational Christian church, which means we focus on the main thing: following Jesus together, loving our neighbours and leaving room for honest questions.

What we believe
The short version
We hold a few things tightly and the rest loosely. In plain words:
1
God is loving, close and worth knowing.
2
Jesus shows us what God is like, and invites everyone in.
3
The Bible is our guide, read with humility and good questions.
4
Every person carries dignity and is welcome here.
5
Prayer is a conversation, not a performance.
6
Faith is lived out on Monday as much as Sunday.
7
Doubt is part of the journey, not the end of it.
8
Church is a family we choose to show up for.
